thetreedweller

I walked into the café, looking around for that “familiar” face. I was not sure if she would be alone, or with another “familiar” face. I recognized her immediately. She looked exactly the same, though I noticed she’s lost weight.

She broke into a grin when she noticed me walking towards her. We hugged.

There was so much we wanted to talk about, three years worth of sharing. We knew so much about each other, and yet we knew so little about each other. Some parts of the jigsaw were missing, which we quickly filled.

Stories of love lost, love found. Love when we weren’t looking. Love when we weren’t expecting. Love we’re both basking in. Of being cougars. Family drama that surrounds us whether we like it or not. Marriage and responsibilities. Career paths. Children! Baggage, and more baggage.

After 2½ hours, we said our farewells. More hugs, more “let’s keep in touch”.

And after so many years, I finally found out my blogger friend’s real name. J

P/S: Busy bee, too bad you were caught in a meeting. Busy as a bee. Next time, k.
