1. There are 2 categories of attire of the gymmers. The flabby ones wear long and loose t-shirts, usually short-sleeved but the already skinny and muscly ones wear body hugging tees (for the males) and midriff baring tees (for the females).
2. The showers are great, due to the strong pressure of the shower heads.
3. It is never too late to join a gym (I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I would join a gym, but here I am, my first day!). It is very heartening to see old folks on the threadmill, doing weights, and I was a bit ashamed that it took me this long to start exercising.
4. If you think you are too fat, and are afraid to be seen exercising in a public place, don't be. There are people who are larger than you. No one cares about how you look, everyone is there because they want to be healthy.
5. Good music helps you do that extra bit as I pushed myself that liiiitle bit harder listening to Gym Class Heroes belt out Cookie Jar.
6. Having a gym buddy is very important to get you off your fat ass. I was lucky that Roland was also keen to (re)join a gym and even when I had doubts about signing up, he told me "if you keep finding excuses, you're never gonna do it".
7. The sauna and steam room are really good to open up your pores and squeeze them black and white heads out! Must remind self to bring exfoliator next time.
8. Even though there are elevators to this 4-storey gym, no one uses them!!! Everyone uses the stairs! *cry*
9. How unfit I am as I climbed 4 flights of stairs (see no. 7).
10. And the most importantly thing I learned... it's gonna take a whole lot of effort to be this size again *wail*

it's only a matter of time before you get addicted to the gym!
Hey Terra, I certainly hope so! It's been 2 weeks and I go there about 4-5 times a week, so all's good!
I really hope to get to the stage when if I don't work out, I don't feel right.
